Worship Service
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
Our gathering is designed to engage the whole person in worship. We desire to worship with our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Our service is rooted in scripture, historic worship elements, congregational participation, and an inclusive spirit.
During our service you will find traditional elements. We sing classic hymnody usually accompanied by our organ or piano.
Our worship is also informed by the church year, which begins with Advent and Christmastime and continues through different seasons like Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary Time. These seasons and holidays ground us through this yearly cycle of celebrating God’s salvation history.
While our service is considered historic or traditional, we strive to be an inclusive community. People come from all walks of life at First Baptist and will be found wearing the spectrum of attire from full suits to blue jeans and sneakers. During service people of all ages will be helping lead in the various parts of the service, even our children and youth.
We do provide a nursery for our youngest members up to the age of 5 which is located across the hall from the sanctuary. We have installed a PrayGround in our sanctuary. This is an area where there are age-appropriate activities for children of all ages during worship. They can stay there under the watchful eye of our staff and their parents or can take the worship activities back to their seat with their family. We have committed to this space because we believe that children are a part of God’s beloved community already and deserve to have their learning styles and worship engagement honored alongside those of adults.
